What is a (REIA) Partnership?

Your Madison Real Estate Investors Association embraces the concept of partnership in both business and life.

Our offerings reflect this.  We recognize the shift that has families more participatory in creating abundance in all areas of their lives.  Consequently, it's important to provide offerings that support this new breed of partner.

It is also essential for us to maintain a level playing field for the membership, and keep lines of demarcation clear, so we need to explain who IS a partner and who IS NOT a partner.

Who IS a REIA Partner?

For the purposes of Membership to create a 'Related Member':

  • Your spouse.
  • Your life partner.
  • Immediate family member.
  • A registered partner in your Corporation or LLC.

For the purposes of Attendance at Events:

  • A 'Related Member' on your REIA account

Note:  Many events will allow a non-member to attend at special partner pricing.  Such events will clearly state this on the event page.  If you have a question about a specific event, please Contact Us.

Who IS NOT a REIA Partner?

  • A friend (unless as qualified above)
  • Another REIA member not associated with your account
  • Someone you met at The Great Dane last weekend
  • Your roommate (unless qualified above)
  • Someone you advertised for on Craig's List

Guiding Intent

The guiding intent of a REIA partner is to support relationships with those that are closest to you and have an impact on your life.  When a spouse participates, they become more related to the ins and outs of working with real estate, so they understand the challenges that you face and can support you.

For a business partner, it's obvious; and if that business partner happens to be your spouse or significant other, all the better.  You're both getting exposed to the same information being disseminated from the REIA, which should help grow your business.

We recognize the desire to make memberships and attendance at events more cost-effective by splitting the costs with unrelated (according to our definitions above) individuals.  However, it compromises the integrity of the REIA and pushes the burden of operation onto full-paying members.

We want to continue to provide top-notch facilities, meetings, speakers, and resources for your business.  Like anything else, that costs money and when it is shared by lots of people, we can keep costs under control and access to meetings, workshops, and facilities available to more people.

For those that find value in our offerings, there is a responsibility to help support it.  Those that are not finding value, or are not using the resources to create wealth in their own business may not be cut-out for this work, and should really consider their participation in the Madison REIA.
