Jill Hauk - Home Inspections

When a retail or "owner-occupied" purchaser of a house makes an offer to purchase, it is largely driven by the stated listing price and the advice of the buyer's agent on which direction that price should go from list.  The final arbiter of that price is the inspection.  If the furnace is found to be on its last legs or the roof is shot, the seller is often required to make price adjustments or repairs.

When an investor purchaser makes an offer to purchase, those same issues are usually already addressed because the investor has done his or her own inspection and has arrived at a "repair cost" that figures into a formulaic asessment of offer price.

The common thread is the "inspection" component - whether done by a Wisconsin-licensed professional such as our presenter for an owner-occupant buyer, or by a trained investor, the mechanicals and systems of the property must be evaluated to be able to make a resaonable offer.

What are those systems and mechanicals that play so heavily into the overall cost of a property?  Be with us for this development session as licensed housing inspector Jill Hauk explains all the ins and outs.

About REI Development

In the REI Development Session, we present a short, pertinent, topic related to investing, followed by a robust and engaged round-table discussion about what's on your mind.  We'll invite a subject-matter expert or one of our preferred vendors to come in and talk about something cool and exciting.

The round-table discussion, while technically square, will have the group asking about or debating topics of interest in the field.  Frequently, someone will present a challenge or opportunity and the group will mastermind about how to deal with the situation.

The Schedule

6:00 PM Check-In and Networking, Coffee Served; check in at the front desk, come grab a seat in the gallery, and talk with new and old friends.
6:30 PM Greeting and General Announcements; welcome message, getting the pulse of the group, and round-table introductions.
6:45 PM Featured Presentation; the guest speaker will present his or her topic and invite attendees to participate in the discussion.
7:30 PM Break and Networking; we take a short break and mingle; new guests meet with Chris or Randy separately in the office area.
8:00 PM Open Discussion; we resume the meeting with open discussions about things that matter to you about what you're up to.
9:00 PM Meeting Adjourned.  The formal meeting is over, and many convene for the meeting-after-the-meeting at Me & Julio on Fish Hatchery.
